Luke Suen is a professional dive instructor by day, a photographer at heart – and – it turns out a brilliant writer too.
The world wandering Canadian found himself touring New Zealand with a young woman so appalled by our underwater conditions she founded Sea Society.
While on her way south to study environmental management Sian Mair met some New Zealand Sea Lions who, in that roundabout way sea lions have, introduced her to Write Answers writer and editor Amanda Nally.
Amanda and Luke met briefly as he handed his camera to Sian on his way to explore other seas.
Fast forward four years to news Luke has penned a first book, and would, could Write Answers possibly take a look.
Absolutely yes.
Today a hard copy of Life in the Childfree Lane landed in the mail box.
“This is dedicated to everyone who reads this and asks, ” Am I why he wrote this book?”
Yes.
Also to my editor Amanda Nally who guided me through this whole process and promised me I wouldn’t be cancelled.
For the childless, whether it’s by choice or cruel chance, Luke’s book is a map to a road less travelled, illustrated with his own breathtaking photography. Now Luke’s about to deep dive into the waters of Komodo and we can’t wait to see if there’s a book in that too.
